'Tackle Drink Driving this Festive Season'

Are you a potential designated driver this Christmas? There's no need for you to feel left out and stay at home thanks to Greene King pubs special offer!

Did you know that 1 in 2 UK drivers (approximately 53% of people) decide to drive after consuming alcohol? Did you know that 43% of UK drink drivers find at least one situation where driving under the influence of alcohol is acceptable?  These statistics are so concerning, particularly with the upcoming month filled with festivities and celebrations. This isn't a post aimed at making you feel bad or to pinpoint blame but to raise awareness of this campaign and the important message behind it.

Jsky x MTV Staying Alive 2019

Last week I attended a charity fundraising event hosted by Jsky, for the third year running, at Impossible Mancheste. The event, sponsored by Killa Clothing, was in aid of MTV Staying Alive Foundation, aiming to increase awareness of the foundation and its work as well as raising funds to assist them with their work. MTV Staying Alive is a global initiative which educates on HIV prevention and aims to break the stigma surrounding the epidemic.

Caseapp: customised skins and cases

Several months ago I came across a new phone case brand, Caseapp.

Caseapp is an innovative brand that enables you to upload a picture of your choice to either a phone case or a laptop skin. This can be any picture: a photo of your family, your pets, a favourite holiday or just a pattern that you like.

I was kindly invited to select a couple of phone cases of my choice, which I absolutely love! Below I'll explain how to use the Caseapp service and show you the cases that I created.

SHELF LOVE: August Book Challenge

Okay, so, I admit I haven't stayed as up to date with this as I hoped (blog wise). However, I have been actively reading so I've been able to put together the last few month's blogs still - they're just a bit backdated!

I hope that you all enjoyed my first edition of 'Shelf Love', with June's Book Challenge. If you haven't read it and are interested, click here.

As promised, I have read another three books which are all very different. I probably wouldn't have read any of the three if it wasn't for this challenge (or my online Book Club) but I am really glad to be broadening my horizons with reading and trying different genres! I've been really pleasantly surprised with all three books. Here are my thoughts...

'Seven wonders of KAI' event

I was recently invited to spend the evening at KAI Deansgate for their 'Seven Wonders of the World’ event. Located on Deansgate, KAI’s Turkish grill restaurant provides a mixture of good food with glamorous decor.

Hosted by award-winning nightlife app Viper, the event provided guests with the opportunity to try three courses from a set menu as well as four of KAI’s speciality cocktails for just £25. Alternative drinks, such as prosecco and beer, were also included in the deal.

Makeup Mobile To You Launch

On Sunday I attended the launch for the brand new Makeup Mobile To You Studio. Originally located in Reddish, this studio began as a small room with just one make-up artist (the founder, Kirsty Scott Gordon) and a singular hair stylist over 6 years ago. The name originated from the initial company relying on mobile appointments. However, the company has gone from strength to strength, growing the studio to a large space at the Reddish base with a variety of treatments available.

SHELF LOVE: June Book Challenge

It’s been a very busy start to 2019, and sadly, not entirely a positive one so I’ve been really slacking on the blog posts. However, I’m really keen to get back posting regularly and adding a bit of variety with my posts, also.

A few months back I put a poll up on my story asking whether people would be interested in book recommendations. I’m an avid reader and, if I’m enjoying a book, I can read it very quickly - sometimes in a couple of hours. I was pleased to see that this idea was really well received with a lot of people saying that they would be interested if I were to add this to my blog.

To make it a little bit more interesting, for myself (& hopefully for you too), I’ve taken a few of the challenges from a Pinterest book challenge to ensure that I’m mixing things up and not always reading the same genre/my usual book. I’m going to aim to do 3 of these challenges each month.

Here goes!

Galentine's Day @ Muse

This Valentine's Day, as ever, I was single so my friend and I decided to have our own celebrations; a 'Galentine's Day' of sorts. I mean, why not?!

We've both been wanting to attend a local-ish restaurant for some time now after seeing it on Instagram & so we booked a table for their Valentine's Day offer. I personally think that this was such a good deal and one that was too good to be missed. The offer was £20 for 2 courses of £25 for 3 courses from an extensive menu. Set menus, I find, can usually be quite limited but this was really inclusive with 6 options for starters!

Budapest Thermal Spas

I’ve just got back from a lovely break to Budapest which was well needed! If you’ve never been to Budapest before, I highly recommend it! It’s filled with history, culture and beautiful views. & of course, the incredible thermal spas.

I visited two of the thermal spas during my trip and I’ve received a lot of interest regarding them! Before visiting Budapest, I had lots of questions myself about the thermal spas and I'd have loved to read a blog post for more information so, here we are.

Did someone say Bottomless Roast?!

On Sunday night, I came out of my January hibernation for a good old Sunday club. From this month onwards, Neighbourhood have introduced an amazing alternative to the usual 'Bottomless' offer. All day, every Sunday (yes, all day!) you can get a roast dinner and bottomless drinks for just £35!

2018: A year in review (pt. 2)

If you're just joining then thank you so much for visiting my blog! It will probably make more sense to read part 1 of this series first which you can do so by clicking here.

The second half of 2018 was equally as busy for me. I attended lots of blog events and had the opportunity to travel more.

I hope you enjoy!

Probably one of my favourite months of the year was July as I finallllly visited Vietnam. This is somewhere I had wanted to visit for years but, at the time, none of my friends were at the stage where they would want to go. Either they'd already been, were enjoying their careers and couldn't take enough time to enjoy it or that kind of trip just wasn't for them. Plus, I didn't have a guy in my life to travel with (no surprise there). So, I took the plunge and decided to go alone!

2018: A year in review (pt. 1)

So, I know I'm a few days late, I've been nursing a killer chest infection (Happy 2019 to me). I wanted to start 2019 first with a reflection of the past year. Firstly, Happy New Year! I can't actually believe we are in 2019 already. I feel like I blinked and 2018 was over but overall, it was a pretty amazing year for me.

I didn't actually realise just HOW much I did in 2018 before looking back through all of my pictures so I will be splitting this into two posts.

Here's part 1 of my 2018 in review. Grab a hot drink and lots of snacks - enjoy!

January for me was a bit of a blur. I have the worst memory when it comes to remembering significant things and dates/details, yet I seem to remember minor ridiculous things that I would never ever need to know. Anyone else, orrrr just me?
