Don Giovanni

Yesterday I had the opportunity to dine at one of my favourite restaurants in Manchester, Don Giovanni. With its bright decor, hearty menu and welcoming staff, this is a restaurant I have dined at many many times over the years so it was a pleasure to visit as a blogger. Combined with a girly catch up with my friend Emma & finally getting the chance to meet her gorgeous little baba Livvy, this was the perfect lunch date location.

First things first, drinks! We opted to try a mocktail.

I had the Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri and Emma had the Virgin Pina Colada. They were really sweet and flavoursome and just as prettily presented, even though they were non-alcoholic which I liked!

For my starter I opted for the Capaccio di Manzo, finely sliced fillet steak in a homemade sauce with fresh rocket and aged parmesan.

This was absolutely delicious. Although I love steak, I’ve never really eaten it in this style but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The sauce was to die for and the addition of salad and parmesan cheese worked really well. I would highly recommend this for all the meat lovers!

I don’t know whether it’s just me but I always order the same thing everrrry time I go to one of my favourite restaurants, as I get the fear that I’ll be disappointed if I order something new and don’t love it as much. However I actually decided to order something really different and I was not disappointed in the slightest.

I haven’t had lobster for a while but this was cooked to perfection. Risotto is such a hearty meal and it was full of flavour, with just the right amount of tomato sauce so the flavours of the lobster and risotto still came through and weren’t overpowered.

Emma opted for the Ravioli Aragosta, fresh pasta stuffed with lobster and served in a lobster bisque served with a hint of chilli. This is my go to order at Don Giovanni so I know just how good it is! I never get bored of it, it’s just so good and such a generous portion too!

After two big courses, I couldn’t manage a dessert on my own so me and Emma decided to share the Chocolate Trilogy, a mixture of dark, milk and white chocolate cream with a cocoa sponge.

This was incredible. I can’t even deal. Anything chocolatey and I am sold but this was out of this world. I will definitely be devouring this all to myself next time I visit!
