Spend a weekend with me: May Bank Holiday 2021

I always say that I want to be super active in posting on my blog and then life gets in the way and I only get round to doing a couple of posts a month, at best! I am also conscious that I share a very little amount of my life and what I get up to on here in comparison to my Instagram so I'm really keen to share a bit more here.

I had a really jam-packed bank holiday weekend so I thought it would be fun to bring you all with me and share what I did. If you want to see what I got up to, keep reading!

On Friday I visited Zouk with a few friends for a cute pre-Bank holiday meal which was amazing! I've been to Zouk once before and I love it - I think it's great food and good vibes.

I opted for the Chicken Burger which I'd highly recommend - it was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. With an option of different dipping sauces, it is suitable for everyone. Zouk does a wide variety of Indian food, not just burgers (I just had a massive burger craving that night after eating healthily for a while now).

On Saturday we had a gorgeous breakfast of Shakshouka. My friend Bec and I are trying to eat healthily at the minute so we wanted something low calorie but filling that would keep us going for the morning. This is easily one of my new favourite breakfasts - it was so so good.

After breakfast, we walked into town and had a look round the shops. I haven’t been shopping for as long as I can remember so it was soooo good to feel a bit of normality again. I forgot how good Primark is!

We then started to get ready & had some pre-drinks. After a few too many drinks we headed out to Dukes 92 in Manchester. We were initially told that it would be a long wait of around 2 hours to get in (it had been fully booked for weeks!) but after a quick hour we were in! I’ll be honest, it was extremely cold without any heaters or cover so I’d recommend wrapping up fully if you visit (or try and make a booking to secure a warmer seat).

On Sunday I headed out (again) for a girly day with my friend Meg. We started at the newly renovated Ducie Street Warehouse. I didn't know what to expect as I'd only seen it briefly advertised on Instagram but I was so impressed. The outdoor terrace was lovely, fitted with lots of heaters and large umbrellas. It was really warm even despite the Manchester weather!

There was also a rotation of DJs playing a variety of music which added to the overall vibe.

I opted for a couple of small plates: the Chilli & Coriander King Prawns and Salt & Pepper Calamari. Both were amazing and I would definitely order them again!

We then headed into Northern Quarter for some more drinks (and lots of shots). I think that Northern Quarter is such a good vibe at the minute - there was no trouble and everyone just wanted to enjoy themselves and the slice of normality we're having. I would recommend Terrace Bar as the upstairs terrace is so good. The only thing I will say is that there's no music in Northern Quarter currently so I'd recommend heading elsewhere for that, or waiting until the 17th when we can go inside!
