Fondue Heaven: Charlie’s Chocolate Fountain

Valentines Day for me is just another day of the year - probably the same for a lot of other fellow single people! This year I decided, with lockdown especially, that I was going to celebrate with my friends!

I was lucky enough to be sent an amazing box from Charlie’s Chocolate Fountain. Started in May 2020, during the midst of the COVID pandemic, Charlie began creating chocolate fondue boxes for family members and friends to enjoy in the comfort of their homes. Due to their popularity, this grew into a business opportunity for Charlie. She has since expanded her business by offering a variety of different style boxes.

I opted for the Fondue Valentine’s Box for 2 and I was so impressed. The presentation as well as value for money was fantastic.

The fondue box was filled with:

- chocolate to be melted;

- strawberries;

- fudge pieces; 

- mini brownies;

- mini donuts; 

- Belgian waffles;

- marshmallows; and

- cookies.

There were also mini chocolates, fizzy sweets & a branded lollipop added in too.

I loved that the box was themed for Valentines, with the addition of a red rose, rose petals & heart shaped sweets/marshmallows. Charlie’s Chocolate Fountain really did go the extra mile with the finishing touches.

Charlie’s Chocolate Fountain also provides afternoon tea boxes, pancake boxes, cheese feasts and mini treats such as chocolate covered strawberries. They also provide gluten free treats and kids options. There truly is something for everyone and for every occasion.

Shocal is a relatively new delivery platform where you can order food and drinks to your doorstep. Think of Deliveroo but for smaller businesses! I think it’s an amazing concept, especially as it supports smaller companies in these difficult times.

The Shocal app is really quick easy to use. There is the option to pre-order several days in advance or on the night. The order is then picked up and delivered directly to your door.
