CBD Oil, and the use of CBD (one of many cannabinoids) has become very popular over the last couple of years but more so over the last 6-9 months. With all of its health benefits, including reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression, treating skin conditions and relieving pain, it’s easy to see why this addition is so popular.

One brand incorporating CBD into its products is health company, Canuki. Originally specialising in CBD-infused bath bombs, Canuki has branched out and launched a brand new skincare range.

Canuki uses what is called CBD topicals in their products. This means that the topicals are absorbed in through the skin, rather than the digestive system, providing longer-lasting effects. Topical cannabinoids (or CBD) are proven to be extremely effective in reducing acne, providing smoother and healthier skin with a balanced oil level.

Firstly I tried their ‘Emerald Glow Face Mask’, a charcoal mask which draws out excess oil and dirt from the skin. Charcoal masks are one of my favourite types of masks so I was really excited to try this. Canuki’s mask was slightly different than others I have tried as it doesn’t set when applied. This makes it so much easier to remove!

I have to say this smelt absolutely amazing. The ingredients of peppermint and witch hazel gave a strong but relaxing scent and are two known ingredients to be great for the skin! Peppermint has an extremely soothing quality that helps to reduce irritation and inflammation in the skin. Witch hazel is said to reduce acne and can protect your skin against any inflammatory substances entering it.

Once I had rinsed off this mask with a damp towel, I could instantly see effects already after just one use. My skin looked brighter and firmer.

I then tried the ‘Liquid Gold CBD Facial Oil’. I applied several drops onto my face and smoothed in with my hands. I couldn’t get over how glowy my skin looked! 

I then used the '0.3mm Facial Roller' to massage the oil into my pores. The roller has small spikes on it to ensure that you are targeting the pores, as well as boosting collagen production and elastin. *Please note that the facial roller is not recommended to be used on active acne or rosacea so just use the facial oil on its own if you currently have either of these or consult a doctor before using the roller.

My skin felt so smooth after using this and it is definitely something I’ll now be incorporating into my skincare routine. The whole process took around 15 minutes which is amazing and something that can easily be done several times a week!
