I was recently invited to review the latest addition to Alderley Edge. Les Deux is a pizza bar with feel-good food, a variety of cocktails and cosy vibes. Opened in December 2019 by Matthew Eberson and Sax Ashard, Les Deux or "The Two" aims to add something a little different to the area.
Easily identified by its bright pastel exterior, the colourful quirky decor continues inside.
I particularly loved the quirky little details scattered around the venue and of course, the fact that you can watch your pizzas being made and cooked from scratch!
We were greeted with a 'Welcome' cocktail. I opted for a Pornstar Martini, of course, and it was delicious!

We tried the 'Pretty Green Eyes' burrata which was filled with green pesto and served with pane carasau, basil oil and tomatoes. This was heavenly. I've never had burrata with pesto before but it went together perfectly. This is the perfect sharing starter if you're after a cold dish.
We also shared the Aubergine Lasagne which was out of this world. I've never had a veggie lasagne before and I was really pleasantly surprised. This was cooked to perfection.

The Lamba'Da is a garlic based pizza topped with slow cooked spicy lamb, mango salsa, coriander and fior di latte (a type of cheese). This was lovely but I found it quite spicy.
The latter is a tomato base pizza with sticky beef, truffle oil, mozzarella, parmesan and spinach. This was my favourite of the two. The sticky beef was amaaazing and I have to admit, I much prefer a tomato base on a pizza! I love their menu but I would probably order this again next time as I enjoyed it so much and I like that it is a variation on the 'usual' pizza choices.
As a side note, I loved watching my pizzas being made and cooked in front of me! This gave a really homely, traditional feel to the restaurant.

For dessert we tried the Lemon Meringue Pie (we shared it as we were far too full for a dessert each). This was just wonderful. The meringue was really soft and creamy and the lemon was full of flavour. I really enjoyed this dessert and it has got to be one of the nicest lemon meringue I have had in a while!
