My Sephora picks

Hi guys,

If you've seen some of my recent blog posts you'll know that I have not long been back from New York. Of course, the first place I visited when I arrived (after checking into the hotel) was SEPHORA!! As sad as it sounds, it was one of the reasons I was so excited to visit America again.

I have heard so many amazing things about the store and it definitely didn't disappoint - I was well and truly in my element! I had the best shop assistant helping me during my time at the store who really did provide the best advice and suggested some alternative products to me that I wouldn't have dreamt of looking at otherwise.

I thought that I would share all of my amazing new products with you. I've waited a few weeks to write this post as I wanted to test out all of the products for myself to give you a personal opinion on each of them!

ANASTASIA BEVERLEY HILLS

Master Palette by Mario

I have seen quite a lot of make-up artists buying this new eyeshadow palette and have heard a lot of good things. After buying the Modern Renaissance palette from Anastasia several months back, I had high expectations! This palette is even better!!

The colour selection is amazing - it offers lots of warm colours such as browns and golds, aswell as a few cooler ones. The variety of colours means that the palette is perfect to use for all occasions: either everyday, a casual night out or for dressing up. In addition to this, the colours are so strong meaning that you don't have to use as much product hopefully making it last much longer.

This palette also comes with a super cute brush (see above).

LAURA MERCIER

Translucent Loose Setting Powder

I've seen several examples of this product being used by a number of make-up artists and it is a product that has been used on myself. I used the Kiko Cosmetics translucent powder before which was good but I do feel that the Laura Mercier powder is slightly better at keeping your make-up in place throughout the day. It also gives an amazing finish and doesn't give your make-up too much of a matte look.

If you are looking for a new translucent powder to set your make-up or you don't have one, I would definitely recommend purchasing this product!

DIOR

Nude Air Luminizer

This is probably my favourite product out of all of them! I can't even explain how much I love this highlighter - it is insane!! This is a bit of an alternative choice and probably one that most people wouldn't think to look at but it really is incredible. I adore the design of this highlighter too - the mirrored compact is just beautiful. The fact that it is a Limited Edition product just says it all!

I think one of the most popular highlighters is the Anastasia Beverley Hills (ABH) Glow Kit which I have used for quite some time. Although I do love this highlighter, I find that you have to use quite a lot of product to really make your highlighter "pop"! I am obsessed with highlighter and I really do like the heavier highlighted look, especially when I am going out - I just feel that it gives your make-up a better finish.

If you love highlighter as much as me, this is the perfect highlighter for you. It is only $4 more expensive than the ABH highlighter and, in my opinion, not only is it a better highlighter it also comes with a compact mirror and brush. I use a Real Techniques brush to apply my highlight as it leaves the perfect finish and adds the product more heavily but this brush is amazing if you prefer a slightly more subtle look. The brush is also fab for adding some powder so either way, it won't go to waste!

All in all, this is the best highlighter I have ever used and I would recommend this every day of the year!!

GUERLAIN

Long Lasting Bi-Phase Eyeliner

Ok, so, confession time - I really am not a big fan of gel eyeliner. I am definitely in the minority here I think as everyone seems to use it and recommend it but I've tried and tried and I just don't find it as easy to work with as liquid liner. I've used liquid liner for years and I think it is so much easier - especially to get the perfect flick.

This eyeliner is great as it provides you with the option of creating a thick and thin look. I am definitely a bit obsessive when it comes to my eyeliner and I can honestly tell you, I have achieved a perfect flick in just one attempt every single time I have used this product - it is just insane!!

As it suggests by the name, this eyeliner is long lasting so it won't come off during the day or a night out. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is after a bit of a change of product - you won't be disappointed!

DIOR

Fix it 2-in-1 Prime & Conceal

Again this is an alternative to the generic/usual brands that people buy. I've seen a lot of people use Nars Creamy Concealer and when I saw it I actually picked it up to buy it. However, when I asked the shop assistant for another product, she expressed that if I was after a "dope" concealer (I love Americans) then it was a product other than Nars.

This 2-in-1 Prime & Conceal is the best concealer that I've ever used. It is perfect for under the eyes on days where you look a little tired - this will definitely be my go-to product for over the Christmas period...

This product is also an amazing way to lighten the colour at the top of your cheeks in preparation for your highlighter. It really does help to make your highlighter stand out that extra bit.

If you are looking for a new concealer, I would definitely recommend this product. You only have to use the tiniest bit of product as it is so amazing so it will last for a very long time! This product can be blended in using the fingers once applied but I much prefer using a brush.

SEPHORA

Pro Airbrush Concealer - Brush 57

This brush was also recommended by the shop assistant. She tried a bit of the concealer on me using this brush and it went on so well giving such a flawless finish.

This brush is really reasonably priced as it is from Sephora's own collection. I would really recommend purchasing the two products together as the brush really does blend the product into the skin really smoothly. It is such a soft brush - I just love it! Both of the products are available to buy on Sephora's website at www.sephora.com.

I really hope that you've found this post interesting and if you buy any of the above products, I hope that you love them as much as me!

Love,
