Christmas party dresses

Hi guys,

So it is nearly that time of year again - work Christmas parties - and the stress begins trying to find the perfect outfit!

One of the main issues is that you have to find something both dressy and appropriate but the majority of dresses nowadays are either too low at the front, or too short, or both! My main Christmas party at work is a black tie event and not only are my team present, but the whole company, so finding the right dress is definitely important!

Although it may seem that you can't wear what you would for a normal night out with your friends, you definitely don't have to wear a boring dress - there's a wide range of dresses that would be more than suitable!

I've found 10 potential dresses that could be worn to a work Christmas party...

BLACK CROCHET PLEAT MAXI DRESS

“Rare London, £75

This dress has such a unique style - I absolutely love it! My favourite thing about this dress is the mix of different fabrics and styles: the sheer lace contrasted with the pleated chiffon just works so well. The slit up the leg makes the dress more modern as without this detail I imagine the dress could look a bit frumpy.

I also love that this dress comes with a bandeau crop top underneath as it saves you having to search for one separately (and it is probably an extremely difficult thing to find during the winter months).

HIGH NECK HALTER MAXI DRESS

Missguided, £28

I am in love with this colour - it is so autumnal!

This is quite a simple dress but I think the bodycon style makes this so classy. My favourite part of this dress is the halter neckline as it is such a feminine detail and gives the dress something extra. The small slit makes this dress perfect for any occasion as it isn't too revealing!

ANITA & GREEN LACE BARDOT DRESS

Lipsy, £35

Lipsy never disappoints when it comes to occasion dresses and they definitely didn't this time! I love absolutely everything about this dress - it is so feminine and pretty. It has so many amazing details I'm not sure where to begin: from the lace fabric to the sheer lace panel - the lace is definitely what makes this dress!!

The love heart neckline draws attention to the neck area so a simple but elegant necklace would be a perfect accessory. Probably my favourite feature of this whole dress is the cropped lace panels for your arms - it just gives this dress something different!

KALLI HIGH NECK LACE DETAIL MIDI DRESS

Pretty Little Thing, £20

I adore this dress - I saw it a few months back and I am still wondering why I never bought it... I love the lace look over the stretchy fabric and I especially love the sheer lace sections. This is such a simple but elegant dress, perfect for any evening occasion!

FABRIZIA BANDAGE STRAPLESS FLUTED-HEM DRESS

House of CB, £119

I have been obsessed with 'mermaid' edged dresses for some time now but this is definitely one of the nicest styles I have seen. The thick bandage fabric is so flattering - I particularly love how it follows your shape closely. Again, this is a simple but beautiful dress and is one of my favourites out of the 10!

JADYN GREY VELVET CHOKER CROSS NECK MIDI DRESS

Miss Pap, £24

This is quite a risky choice to wear but I was drawn to it the second I saw it! Velvet can be quite unforgiving, especially in a lighter colour, but this style works so well. I love the cross over neck which adds extra detail to the dress. If you're not feeling like playing it safe, this is definitely a dress to try! Miss Pap also sell this dress in a deep red - perfect for the Christmas period.

BLACK HIGH NECK LACE MIDI DRESS

Rare London, £52

This dress is absolutely amazing and is definitely something I would buy. I just think you can't go wrong with a black bodycon midi dress - it is perfect for any occasion and always looks super classy! Plunge dresses are all the range at the minute so this is a good compromise for a Christmas works do as the lace neck ensures that you are not revealing too much and makes the low front a lot more subtle.

BLACK LONG SLEEVE CROCHET MAXI DRESS

AX Paris, £50

I am obsessed with the sheer look at the minute and I adore sheer arms on a dress - it looks so classy! Sheer arms is also the perfect compromise in the winter season - you have covered up enough to keep warm but you won't be too hot as the fabric is very light.

A maxi dress is perfect for the winter months. I have always associated maxi dresses with summer in the past due to the fabrics and styles used but the new season maxi dresses are amazing. The slit on this maxi dress gives a feminine touch and is perfect for a special occasion.

PREMIUM STRAPPY GRID EMBELLISHED MIDI DRESS GOLD

Missguided, £120

A prime example to show that you don't need to wear black or a dark colour to look classy. This dress is such a Christmas dress - with the gold colour and the sequin detail - it is perfect for a works do. I love how the design follows on to part of the back but is contrasted with the simple fabric. This is a little on the pricey side if you're not wanting to spend too much but it is perfect if you're happy to spend a bit extra for a special occasion.

EMBELLISHED NECK BODYCON DRESS

AX Paris, £40

As you've probably noticed, I am all for simple dresses! Sometimes less is more and this dress is definitely a good example of this. The sheer panel and embellished detail on the neck adds just enough detail to this dress without making it fussy. The simplicity of this dress is the reason why it looks so classy and sophisticated!

Happy shopping!

Love,
