I hope that you enjoyed reading my last post.
I have decided to share with you all my 'Make-up Essentials' - basically, the products that I can't live without!
So why have I decided to do this post?
I have been asked a few times what make-up products I use and, to tell the truth, I use a variety of different brands which all vary price wise. I love trying out new brands and comparing them with the main high street ones and surprisingly, the more expensive products are not always my favourite quality wise.
Like most girls my age, I am obsessed with make-up and follow all of the main make-up accounts on Instagram etc for inspiration. I soon found that intricate eyeshadow looks were out of my league and I really struggled to do anything other than the basic nude smokey eye.
Over the next three weeks, I will be sharing all of my favourite products for my eyes, lips and face.
MAKE-UP ESSENTIALS #1
EYES
Eyeshadow
When it comes to eyeshadow, I love a brown smokey eye, orange tones or anything gold related! The Morphe 350 palette is perfect and caters for all of these different looks (and more). This is definitely my go-to palette!
I also discovered these two amazing eyeshadow palettes when shopping a little while back. Both palettes can be bought at www.blushcosmetics.com and are available at a bargain price of £9.99 each!
The first palette provides the majority of matte colours, most of which are perfect to use as one of your first colours on your crease to create that perfectly blended look. The darker colours are perfect to create a striking smokey eye.
The second palette gives you a choice of 88 (yes, 88!) different colours to choose from. I would never have thought to use pinks and purples before but after buying this palette and experimenting, I've got to say I can't believe I didn't try them out sooner!
Brushes
I use a range of different brushes to apply my eyeshadow (listed below):
Crease
Morphe / M511
Zoeva / 228
Zoeva / 221
Zoeva / 231
Lid
Real Techniques / 200
Urban Decay / NAKED
Zoeva / 232
Outer Lid
Morphe / MB23
Morphe / E30
Royal & Langnickel / Angle Shader
Lower Lashline
Real Techniques / 202
Zoeva / 232
Eyeliner
I have always used liquid liner and although the new trend of applying gel liner with a brush is on the rise, I just can't bring myself to switch over!
Brand: Kiko
I use the Kiko Milano 'Definition Eyeliner' which I absolutely love!! I first discovered this shop whilst on holiday in Italy and I am so glad that it has come to the UK - if you haven't shopped there, you should definitely check it out (www.kikocosmetics.com).
I find that a liquid liner is much easier to apply and allows you to create a smooth, neat line. As you can see, this brush is very thin and allows you to apply the perfect flick if you want to.
Mascara
I have tried and tested so many different mascaras over the years from MAC, Bobbi Brown and Chanel to Rimmel and Maybelline. I have naturally long eyelashes so I love a mascara that can really enhance them by adding both length and volume.
And my favourite is...
Brand: Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara
Price: £7.99
Well, there you have it - my eye make-up essentials!
Next week I will be filling you all in on my favourite face products. Until then, if you're not already, follow my Instagram for photo blog posts - @xthelifeofm.
