My 5 favourite food spots in Riga

When visiting a new country/city, it can be hard to know where's best to eat and drink. I usually like to do my research beforehand but sometimes it can be nice to take advice off the locals and/or just wander and see what you come across!

There were so many nice places in Riga; everywhere you turned was a beautiful cafe, bar or restaurant. Here are my five favourite food places that I visited whilst in the city, enjoy!

The Flying Frog

This restaurant was literally a 5 minutes walk from our hotel and was a recommendation from the receptionist at our hotel. The weather was beautiful. At 18 degrees, it was the perfect day to soak up the sun on this outdoor terrace, people watching and tucking into some amazing food.

Photo Diary: 2 days in London

Hi guys,

I visited London just before Christmas on a last minute trip with one of my friends and we had the best time. With only 2 days there, we wanted to make the most of our time so we kept ourselves really busy.

Here's what we got up to...

My first hostel experience

Hi guys,

So you may or may not have seen my recent blog post where I mentioned that I visited Barcelona last month, where I stayed in my first proper hostel. I've always stayed in hotels so I have never had the whole 'hostel experience' that people talked about.

When my friend first suggested staying in a hostel, I was pretty opposed to the idea and was trying to find any other option possible. The thought of sharing a room with complete strangers really freaked me out and I'd heard the stereotypical horror stories of people having all their belongings stolen and so on. After reading reviews online, I started to come round to the idea and decided to give it a go.

Here's how I found it...

The 3 best views of Barcelona

Hi guys,

I've recently got back from Barcelona and the holiday blues have well and truly kicked in! I've visited Barcelona twice now so I've been lucky enough to have the opportunity to see quite a few of the amazing attractions that the city has to offer.

One of the things that struck me about Barcelona, on both occasions, was the amazing views. There's so many places that you can visit and see the city in all its wonder.

I'm going to share with you my 3 favourite views of Barcelona.

A day in Bruges

Hi guys,

You may have seen my last blog post where I talked about my time in Brussels and why I think it is definitely a city worth visiting. If not, then feel free to check it out on my Travel page if you're interested.

I mentioned in this blog that I would definitely recommend spending a day in Bruges. Bruges is another Belgian city and is just over an hour's train journey. The trains are really accessible and easy to use and they are really reasonably priced too.

We got the train from Brussels Central Station (Bruxelles Central / Brussels Centraal) and it was such an easy journey.

10 things you should do when visiting Brussels

Hi guys,

Some of you may have seen on my Instagram that I've just visited Brussels - I am so sad to be back home! Although, the weather forecast is much better in Manchester than Brussels (for once) so that's definitely a plus!

Brussels is such an amazing city with so much to do and see, even if that simply consists of having a leisurely stroll around the city - you'll always come across something interesting and new.

I thought I would share with you 10 things that I would definitely recommend doing if you ever visit Brussels.

Two days in Paris

Hi guys,

So last weekend I visited Paris for the second time. I think sometimes when you visit a city more than once, it doesn't seem as amazing as the first time you went but Paris is definitely an exception.

Paris is one of my favourite cities - I think it is absolutely beautiful. The buildings are just mesmerising and there is so much to do that you can never get bored of it.

We only had two full days but we managed to fit in everything that we wanted to do (thanks to my planning)!

Travel bucket list

Hi guys,

Happy New Year!! I hope you've all had a lovely Christmas and New Year.

So it's now 2017 and, like most of us, I'm day dreaming about travelling. Alongside planning my upcoming trips for the year, I can't help but think ahead and look at all the amazing places that I can hopefully visit in the future!

Everyone has a bucket list of places that they want to travel to and things they would love to do if they have the opportunity to. Here are ten things I would love to do (in no particular order).

#1
VISIT MONKEY BEACH
Phi Phi, Thailand

Number one on the list has to be Monkey Beach!! Monkeys are my fave animal ever - I think they're so funny and mischievous!

Is there anything better than soaking up the sun on a beach in Thailand, with incredible views, surrounded by monkeys?! In my eyes there isn't.

This is definitely on my bucket list within the next couple of years - Thailand looks a dream and I could not visit without coming here!

My NYC experience

Hi guys,

I've just got back from one of the best trips of my life - New York City!! I feel so blessed that I was able to visit such an amazing city, even more so that this was one of my 21st birthday presents.

I went with my Mum for five days, six nights and it was incredible. We stayed in the amazing Roosevelt Hotel just off Madison Avenue. It is an incredibly beautiful, old fashioned hotel filled with chandeliers, velvet chairs and doormen in traditional dress - some of them even wore top hats!

The best views of NYC

Hi guys,

I've recently got back from New York and I really was blown away by so many different aspects of the city.

New York - one of the most popular travel destinations, probably a place on most people's bucket lists to visit one day... From the food, the shopping and attractions to the iconic skyline - New York is just something else.

You can find lots of photos of New York's amazing skyline online but it really just doesn't sink in how incredible the city actually is until you see it for yourself in person.

I wanted to share with you my thoughts on the best ways to view New York. In my opinion, there are four amazing options and I was lucky enough to see the city from all four!

#4 - Statue of Liberty

Antalya

Hi guys,

I have recently returned to rainy England after the most relaxing holiday to Antalya in Turkey with my Dad. A week filled with sun, sea and exploring (and unlimited food and drink) - what more can you ask for?

I stayed in a hotel in the town of Kizilot, a couple of hours from Antalya airport. The two main towns in this area are Manavgat and Side.

Manavgat is primarily a residential area however, it does have an enormous market. If you've ever been to Turkey before, you know you can't beat a traditional Turkish market! Side is more of a tourist area than Manavgat and is definitely the place to be!
